Oakside Mansion Wedding – Melissa + Joey
There are many parts to being a wedding photographer that I truly love, but nothing means more to me than walking away with new friends in this world. Melissa and Joey are super special in that way. Originally, they just came to me to be their wedding photographer. Now, an engagement shoot, a wedding day, and an album design later, I know I have gained two great friends. I’m super glad I got to share your special day and was there to capture it for you both :)
Ok, now a little about the day. Starting over at the Wilshire, it was a ball with everyone getting ready, and although we had to shift our plans a little and think on the fly since it was a bit rainy, everything seemed to work out well thanks to a little day before planning on the photo team’s behalf :) Thank you to The Wilshire Hotel for a dry spot for some first look photos and formals!
The Oakside Mansion Wedding, wow, such a quint place with an antiqued-rustic feel. Melissa definitely thought out all of the pretty details of the day and The Oakside seemed to be all about her decorating the place to fit her day’s decor.
Melissa looked so beautiful in her dress, and I adored the bouquet (probably because I really like succulents, haha). And all of the guys looked sharp, even the little buggers. The bridesmaids sea foam/light turquoise gowns were super cute! They we all slightly different, just enough to mix it up and keep things interesting.
The floral arrangements in the reception adhered to the rustic/natural theme with their wooden planter boxes resembling mini creates. The flowers themselves were very colorful and complemented the uplighting in the tent. And the cake, the cake looked super yummy, especially with the uplighting!
So, again, I want to congratulate my super awesome new friends! I know you will always work together, put the other before yourself, and grow your love for each other stronger with every day, and I look so forward to watching it take place!
A big shout out to my very talented second shooter whose work is mixed in below, Caylena Cahill from the Hudson Valley area. Since God only gave me one pair of eyes, I am super glad to have had hers with me to capture all the beauty of the day. Thanks Cay!
